Vanille - Kipferl

Vanille - Kipferl Recipe







This Kipferl is delicious and it simply melts into the mouth

Things needed :

All purpose flour - 275 gm
Salt 1 pinch
Sugar 100 gm
Butter 200gm
Almonds powdered - 100 gm

For covering the cookie:
Powder sugar
Vanilla sugar ( white in color) - 1 pack


Preparation method :

Mix first butter , sugar, salt and then flour ,almonds to make the cookie dough.

Cool overnight.

Then form small moon like shapes with your hands.

Bake in the over for 10-12 min . in 180 degrees temperature.

After cooling cover the kipferl with a mix of powdered sugar & vanilla sugar.
This vanilla sugar gives a pleasant aroma for the kipferl so when you take each kipferl to bite its flavour makes you crave for it.

German Christmas Cookies -Weihnachtsplätzchen

Christmas Cookies Recipe

CHRISTMAS COOKIES - WEIHNAHTSPLÄTZCHEN

Things needed :

All purpose flour - 500 gm
Butter ( soft,at room temperature) -250 gm
Sugar - 250 gm
Eggs - 2
Backing powder - 1/2 of a packet , 1 full tsp

For glazing:
Powder sugar - as needed
Lemon juice - of 1 lemon
Food Colors

Preparation method :

Add the backing powder with the flour . Give it a mix.

Beat well butter,sugar and eggs .

Introduce the flour into this using a sieve. Knead well to make a dough.
Keep it like that for some time , say 15 min.

Spread the dough in a wooden board using a rolling pin . It should be of medium thick.
Use different interesting forms to make cookies .

Bake for 7 min in 200 degree temperature or until the cookies are slightly brown.
Allow to cool .

Mix the lemon juice with powder sugar ( you can also add different colors with this).
Brush it on top of the cookies.Spread some decorations for cookies over it. Allow to cool. Store in airtight jars and present your friends & family on X'mas .

Engelsaugen

ENGELSAUGEN - CHRISTMAS COOKIES


Things needed :

All purpose flour - 240 gm
Butter ( soft,at room temperature) -150 gm
Egg yolks of 2 eggs
Powder sugar - 75gm
Vanilla sugar - 2 spoon
Lemon - 1 ( for making zest)
Salt -- 1/2 tsp
Fruit Jam - Strawberry,pineapple anything you have

Powder sugar - to sprinkle


Preparation method :

Make zest of a lemon.
Beat well butter , powder sugar, vanilla sugar ,salt and Egg yolks .
To this add the lemon zest . Beat well.
Add the flour and knead well to make the dough.
Keep this dough covered in the refrigerator for 2 hrs.

Take the dough out to make cookies.
Make small balls out of the dough.
Make a small cavity on the middle using the back end of a wooden spoon .( you can also use your finger).
In that cavity place the Fruit Jam. You can also use a pastry bag for placing the jam.

Bake in the oven in 200 degrees temperature for 12 min or until it is done.
The desired color is little bit whitish. Can be pale brown at the end sides.

Sprinkle some powder sugar after cooled.
