Chocolate Coffee Cake Recipe

Chocolate - Coffee Cake


This is my entry to Raji's Anniversary Cake Event .
Things needed :

Chocolate cream (Nutella )- 200 gm
Hazel nuts - 150 gm
Instant Coffee powder- 4 sp
Sherries (Kirschen)- 1 glass 125 gm wt
Soft butter - 200 gm
Sugar - 200 gm
salt - 1 pinch
Eggs - 5
All purpose Flour - 400 gm
Backing powder - 1 pkt
Milk - 50 ml

Preparation method :

Melt the nutella by placing on top of a vessel with boiling water.
No need to wait till it becomes like water.It should be of very soft consistency. Thats all.

Roast the hazel nuts in a pan. Hack them and keep it aside.

Dissolve 4 sp instant coffee in 2-3 sp water in a glass.

Remove the sherry seeds and coarsely cut them.

Preheat the oven to 175 degrees temp.

Now beat first the Soft butter,Sugar,salt in a vessel.

Add 1st egg and little bit of the coffee and beat for a min. so that everything should mix thoroughly,
add 2nd egg and coffee and beat well for another min.
continue this with the rest of the eggs n coffee.

Mix flour & backing powder , introduce this into beaten mixture through a sieve. beat well .

Now add the cut sherries and chopped hazel nuts(keep one portion from this for decoration) into the cake batter and mix well with a spatula.

Grease a spring form ,pour the batter into the form.

Time to add the chocolate paste.
You have to get the chocolate paste inside the surface of the cake.

Fill a pastry bag with choc. cream . Insert inside the batter , press the bag & make a round through the cake.
You can also do it manually using a spoon.

Bake first 30 min. without foil.
then cover with an baking foil and bake another 20 min.
