Happy First Advent!

The Xmas season has began. The first candle has been lit.. 💗

After a long time of stress & struggle hoping that this holiday season may be relaxing time for everyone, hopefully the year ahead may bring more luck and Happiness to all of us.

I wish that there won't be much flight restrictions next year and hopefully i can visit my homeland..    let's see.

So like every year we did a Christmas give away this week.

Cooking for a mass could be really fun if you organise properly ..I got some help also this time so got everything done very fast.

Somehow giving away food this time was not so easy even when the food was packed properly, due to Covid restrictions.

We were just about to give up. By God's grace it worked out.. 😊

Its the same Recipe I use always... used this time mushrooms, Bell pepper, cherry tomatoes, 2 types of cheeses, Salami etc.

Christmas and new year 2017

Enjoyed this year pretty much,
mostly because of the small trips and adventures.

One of my friends moved out to a small town around 400 kms away.
I was thinking of visiting her for a long time. So I decided to help her out with unpacking and stuff.

It was not convenient for her to cook, so I made some chappathis, Dosa batter, some chutney powder and one Chicken curry. The curry was spicier and saltier than  usual , as i cooked it in the midnight with half closed eyes

Never mind ;)

Train was punctual and I reached her place in 4 hrs.
She was waiting for me and the food. I felt very sorry for her. She is a cool person , moved out to Germany all alone around 7 yrs before and got settled in her Career apart from the difficult situation she has back home.

I entered her kitchen, poured some batter to make idli and started making Dosa's one after another and she started eating them with chicken curry ignoring how spicy it was.  Felt very happy at heart.
She praised my curry and handed me a banana after food.

I remembered one incident some years before as I was with my husbands family after marriage, the first thing my mother in law cooked for me was Dosas .It was damn salty like 1 tsp salt per Dosa and I still remember how we all tried to swallow it without complaining her. Years after even now she is not good in putting salt  ;)

On the way back home I started thinking ....

Food is precious. Be always thankful that you get your meal everyday.
The views regarding food and cooking has changed with time. It has become recipes rathen than effort. More importance is being given to the decoration but not the ingredients. The person who cooked it, has become important than the taste of the food :(

In our forefathers time food was considered as a necessity than Pleasure. Those times people were happy just to have food. Now it all has changed.

Chicken curry

Like every year managed to make food to giveaway, this time made 5 square formed Pizzas :)

Christmas giveaway

This time Christmas decided to bake a spicy Kerala Plum cake for my Church community .
I tried the same recipe alteast 4 times by now.

Ended 2017 with a good note . Expecting much more adventures and good happenings in 2018.
Happy new year to one and all !!!
